Plastering Contractors in Cork

Our plastering contractors in Cork finish walls and ceilings for homes, renovations and commercial premises. We carry out skimming, plaster repairs and drylining, with preparation agreed before work begins.

What plastering work do you need?

Interior plastering can mean finishing new walls, refreshing a room with a skim coat or repairing a damaged background. Those jobs can look similar once painted, but the preparation is different. We discuss the existing surface and the finish you want before agreeing the work. Tell us whether the job is one wall, several rooms, ceilings or a larger refurbishment. You do not need to know a product name to make an enquiry.

Is a skim coat enough?

A skim is a finish rather than a substitute for a sound background. If an area is loose, damaged or affected by moisture, ask what needs attention underneath. Gyproc Ireland describes Skimcoat as an internal finishing plaster for suitable backgrounds. That does not mean every existing wall is ready to receive it. A visit can establish which areas can be retained and what preparation belongs in the quote.

How do drylining and repairs fit into the job?

Plasterboard work, joint finishing and wet plastering should be described separately in the scope. Let us know if a ceiling has been opened for access or if walls have been chased for services. Photograph the whole room as well as individual patches. This helps explain where the new finish must meet an existing wall and whether a local repair or a larger finishing area is being considered.

What happens before work starts?

Agree which rooms will be available, how furniture will be moved and which surfaces need protection. Electrical and plumbing changes should be coordinated before the final finish. Ask who handles fittings and whether waste removal is included. In an occupied home, access to adjoining rooms and the route used for materials matter too. Keep these arrangements with the quotation so they are easy to check later.

What should the quote and handover include?

A useful quote identifies the surfaces, preparation, materials and finish. It should make exclusions clear, including painting or other trades. Ask how additional work will be approved and priced. Before booking decoration, request aftercare advice for the products used and the actual room conditions. Frequently asked questions

Can I enquire before I know which products are needed?

Yes. Describe the work and what you know about the existing finish. The materials and preparation should be chosen after the job is assessed, not guessed when filling in the form.

What should I have ready for the callback?

Have your nearest Cork town, a list of the surfaces involved and photographs ready. Mention occupied rooms, difficult access and other trades already booked so the scope can be discussed clearly.

Does the callback request confirm a booking or price?

No. It is an enquiry. Availability, a visit if needed, the written scope and price must be agreed separately. There is no automatic call-out charge or promised start date on this website.
